Happy New Year, and an Update From Resources
Happy New Year, dearest readers.
I don’t think we need to tell you it’s been a minute, and I think it’s important to come to you from a place of honesty. So, grab a warm drink, maybe some popcorn if you think this is going to get juicy, and let’s have honesty hour.
In 2018, a few of us writer-types came together under the editorial oversight of Pastor Josiah to form Horizons Resources, a place for us to worship the Lord with the gifts He has given us. He led us for four wonderful years, even as he finished college, started a family, took on the roles of Connect and then Assistant Campus Pastor, and now (in case you haven't heard) the Lost Creek Campus Pastor, and started working on his Masters of Divinity.
In late 2021, I (Stephanie Kerns) was really wanting to be more involved in Resources, and as I saw my friend was getting more busy, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to help. We met in early 2022 to pass off some of the duties to me, for scheduling and editing, under his continued oversight. Josiah now acts as our Editor-in-Chief, and I as the Content Manager.
2022 brought so many great things to Horizons Church. We celebrated 25 years as a church. We started campuses in a few prisons in our area. We’ve continued to pour into our community from the overflow of blessings that God has given us. We’re so beyond grateful.
2022 also brought challenges. Most of our writers were either in a season of life where they had to realign their priorities and service or they were in a sabbatical season. And while we have missed them dearly, we are glad they are following God’s call to these new avenues of ministry.
To make a long story short: Horizons Resources has been in a season of rest. Pastor Josiah and I are meeting and planning to coming back soon. We hope that this ministry has been edifying for your spiritual journey, and you will bear with us in love as we take this time to rest and reevaluate Horizons Resources in 2023.
With Much Love,
The Horizons Resources Family
